My Castle; kunst in opdracht

Soms zijn mensen zo blij met hun aankoop dat ze nóg een kunstwerk van je willen. Tijdens Art Karlsruhe kocht een Duits echtpaar Wonderland en ze wisten direct dat ze er nog een werk in dezelfde stijl naast wilden hangen. Thuis zijn ze meteen aan de slag gegaan met de maatstelling en positionering. Daags na de beurs stond er al een e-mail in mijn mailbox met foto van de wand waarop ze een mal hadden geplakt. Ze wilden een soortgelijk werk als Shelter, maar dan in de kleuren van Wonderland.

Zo gezegd, zo gedaan. Het resulteerde in My Castle dat net als Wonderland een verplaatsbaar/verwijderbaar messing huis heeft.

Sometimes people are so happy with their purchase that they want second artwork from you. During Art Karlsruhe, a German couple bought Wonderland and they knew right away that they wanted to hang another work in the same style next to it. At home, they immediately started working on the dimensions and positioning. The day after the fair, an email was already in my mailbox with a photo of the wall on which they had placed a template. They wanted a similar work as Shelter, but in the colours of Wonderland.

No sooner said than done. The result was My Castle, which, like Wonderland, has a (re)movable brass house.
